[OPEN] Queueing or patient assigning problem Empty [OPEN] Queueing or patient assigning problem

Sun Mar 10, 2019 5:53 pm
Description
I noticed that sometimes is queueing of patients or assigning of patients to doctors little bit strange. It seems like doctors don't want to call any patient, even there are many of them waiting to be called.

For that purpose I changed game file to increase of flow of patients to be sure, that there are patients to be called to doctors. In red circle you can see doctor James Baker - from 17:01 till 18:00 he does not call any patient. In purple circle is patient Mary Baker, who is waiting to be called to (any) doctor. In yellow circle is doctor Brooke Martin, who returns to office around 17:56 - 17:58, but does not call any of waiting patients.

[OPEN] Queueing or patient assigning problem Queuei10

I can't find any reason, why doctors don't call patients to office to be examined or treated.

Repro steps
Use save game to check.

Hi, this is an interesting one (and took quite a while to figure out what's is happening). This can actually only happen if there are patients who returned to the waiting room after laboratory tests and don't have any examinations scheduled anymore, just need to get back to a doctor to get another examinations planned - these patients don't currently look for free doctors, but wait for their original doctor to finish with the previous patient, so if one of them is at the front of the 'queue', they will block the rest of the patients for some time.

I'm testing at a fix, but we'll need to keep an eye on potential side effects for a while.

Is this "effect" of blocking queue only for laboratory tests or also for radiology tests? Anyway, it makes sense that patient wants (waits) for previous doctor. As a patient you surely prefer doctor, who did examinations to you against new unknown doctor. But it should not block all other doctors and patients in queue.

This inspired me to do some tests. In first I fired all receptionists, all lab technicians (day and night) and all x-ray technicians. I also removed reception, stat lab a both x-rays. In such situation queing and assigning patients works without any problem. Then create reception room and hired two receptionists. I monitored queue for two days and again none problem with queueing. Then I create 2 x-rays (second floor) and hired 2 technicians. I monitored queueing in next day and problems returned. Some doctors don't call patients eventhough there were patients. So it seems that patient returning from any test (lab or radiology or any other in future) is somehow affecting queueing.
