I believe kitchens aren't aimed for release however is being considered for DLC. Of course an important part of the patient experience and nutritional journey, but I think the devs are focused on ensuring that the medical aspect of the game works prior to focusing on ancillary staff.

I would also agree with Scorpycfs here.
It's an easy way of adding new content, but does not value up to having a core mechanic that is truly polished.

Hope to get a response from Jan? It really with lift the mood of the game if we can interact with the patient and connect with them and feed them. If there isn't adequate service the patients will complain and you might get fired!
I did see food trolleys being push around in the trailer so perhaps basic function as it is one core function to help patient recover as its not just about medication & diagnoses but if too difficult it can wait.

Hi all, while it's one of the simplified systems in the game, hospitalized patients are indeed getting food delivered and can get hungry and angry if something goes wrong. For now the meals come from an infinite storage, but in the future we can consider extending the system in different ways (different quality, cooks as specific staff role etc.).
Btw - the trolleys in the trailer were the ones for janitors

Thank you Jan! Will they be different types of meals that patients and staff can request?

We're considering different food quality as a future update as Jan mentioned. We also visually distinguish how food is handled at different wards (IV nutrition on ICU for example).
For staff, there's also impact on their performance if they don't have time for lunch and have to do with a quick snack.
