Different clinics

i was wondering what the difference between clinics for emergency, surgery, internal medicine etc is. So far my emergency and surgical clinics seem to be doing exactly the same diagnostic things.

I think the idea is that the speciality clinics get patients with problems in that specialty. So while your emergency clinic gets all sorts of people with all manner of problems, you surgery clinic patients have already seen a primary care doctor somewhere else and were told to go see an outpatient surgeon.
