Someone help what do i do?
Sun Nov 11, 2018 5:01 pm
This is spoiling the game for me. can someone tell me what im doing wrong? This patient collapsed waiting for surgery. It annoyed me she wasn't operated on in the first place. I hovered over all general surgery staff and their status was idle, when she was clearly in desperate need of surgery. She collapsed so was taken to ICU. Now no tests will be done that ive ordered for diagnosis and no surgery will be done. She'll either die or be transported. How do I get out of this and get the idle doctors to actually do the surgery, or carry out the diagnosis so I can find out the two hidden symptoms? Is it a bug that the doctors are idle or is it something im doing wrong? It seems now in the situation she is in there is absolutely nothing I can do? Which spoils the game. Shes the only one in ICU and the doctor and nurse there will do absolutely nothing for her.
I should be able to put her as a priority to have surgery straight away. a button or something that will make other doctors stop what theyre doing (even idle) and rush up and get her to surgery. If the general surgery surgeon is doing rounds looking at patients with crones or athletes foot they should be an option to cancel their actions so she is priority! I have checked though the 3 doctors and nurses are sat at their stations downstairs. Seems crazy. Idle general surgery staff idle ICU staff but a patient is dying

Are there other patients waiting for surgery as well? There's no way to prioritize someone for surgery, you'd have to cancel the surgery treatment on all other patients to move this one to the front of the queue. Also how many nurses do you have in your general surgery? I find that you need at least 5 to keep things running smoothly. Also, if you gave the surgery treatment before all the diagnosis then the diagnosis will not be done until the surgery is done.

Check if the operating room actually works. The game won't tell you if you blocked paths to equipment. I recommend this layout (it's minimum required size). It will definitely work. The important part is the space around the surgery table allowing people to walk around it. And not blocking off the anesthetics machine. People can't walk under the monitor and they can't walk through the tile that has the wall mounted defibrillator on it. Don't use wall mounted defibrillators unless you have some decoration that it can fit above

Not really, only the person at the top of the list needs to be rescheduled. This is exactly what happens in real life, I was going in for surgery a couple of years ago and 2 days before it was rescheduled because a more urgent case had come up. The problem you have with the game though is that unless the patient dies there's no way to tell if they are more urgent that the other scheduled surgeries. Personally I wouldn't worry about it, transport them to another hospital and forget them.Soylent wrote:Are there other patients waiting for surgery as well?
