Remove mod from save game

Hi everyone,

I've never created my own mods but I have used a couple from the Steam Workshop.

I've used them for a while and created several saves with them. However I decided to unsubscribe as the functionality of both have been made redundant with both updates to the base game and DLC releases.

Now that I've unsubscribed from the mods in the Steam Workshop, I'm unable to load my save games as they were saved while the mods were active.

Does anyone know of a way I am able to load these saves again without the mods installed? Or am I forced to use the mods again?

Hi @linguistbrit, definitely possible to get the game into a state where you can play without the mod but it might involve creating a 'patch' mod for you (a mod that lets the game do its thing with the references in your save file but removes the mods content). Could you please tell us the mod you had installed that you wish to remove?
