What everyone's bed stock?
My hospital is probably too big.
Like 12 trauma beds, 20 observation beds
I have 17 operating theatres etc.

17 Operating theatres?! What are the capacities? I have 10 in my biggest hospital and they are almost never fully loaded.

So, I have two separate trauma bays with 6-8 beds (can't remember). I have 8-9 individual operating rooms, and like the post above, I always have some available. I run day and night surgery for each dept, and double day teams for a couple.
Have you modded the total number of patients you receive per day? Last time I played the game I received around 162 patients per day w/ completed insurance objectives and prestige. To me, I consider your unmodded patient allotment per day the measure of greatest achievement level in the game.

17 OR's seems just a tad overkill, unless you somehow get so many broken people that you actually need that many. I usually focus my efforts on the ED and on efficient and aesthetically pleasing hospitalisation wards. Usually between 10-20 beds depending how overboard I go when it comes to making things pretty.

So here's my mostly complete list:
A&E/E.R.
12 Resus/Trauma trolleys
20 Observation beds
ICU
22 beds
Internal Medicine
20 regular beds
20 HDU beds
General Surgery
20 regular beds
20 HDU beds
Neurology
16 regular beds
16 HDU beds
Orthopaedics
20 regular beds
20 HDU beds
Cardiothoracics
20 regular beds
20 HDU bed
Oncology
12 regular beds
12 HDU beds
Gynecology
16 regular beds
16 HDU beds
Uro-Nephrology
16 regular beds
16 HDU beds
(+12 dialysis stations)
For a grand total of 322 inpatient beds.
I get at least 100 people in my beds overnight.
I have 17 operating theatres for general use and three other cardio theatres on the cardio/neuro floor.
Lots of imaging units.
I expected the game to be able to keep up with the bed stock rather than waste time on the stuff it doesn't need like technologists being poorly programmed so they can't scan people properly. Or the workers being pointlessly dependent on moods rather than professionalism. So i built big to cope with big. It mostly works.
I always have an operation going on somewhere. Except for renal which is broken right now.
Anyways.
322 beds is my number. I have well over 150 patients per day. Over 1000 staff
