Patient Fee--How is it determined? Some Suggestions Also.

According to my observations, patients pay the same fee for the same disease, no matter what examinations and treatment they've underwent. I would propose that, if the observation is true, patients should be charged according to the examinations and treatment they've had. One examination and treatment will correspond to a certain fee, and the final fee will be the total amount of fees combined. Of course, patient's satisfaction will decrease if too much examinations are done (I think it is already designed that way), or medications don't work. This system would complicate game play, but in a good way. Players can build their strategies (fast diagnostics and treatment or money draining the patients) in a more comprehensive way. This would also add realism to the game since this is exactly how modern hospitals work.
Of course, perhaps this is already the default system in game that I didn't figure out. If I got it completely wrong, forgive me lol.

I don't agree. If you simplefy the way insurrance companies in RL work, you will see that it is close to that ingame. The whole game is about building an as efficiënt hospital as posible. If you get paid by examination the price for treatment itself will go down to maintain game ballance. So with your system you will reward inefficient hospitals more and punish efficient hospitals in comparison with how it works now.

You can add costs for each exam performed. Currently the expenses are only the employees' wages.

true, but apart from depreciation of your equipment, the wages your main cost factor. Buying new cotton swabs and cleaning bed pans pales in comparison to that. Also, as stated before, the real world compensation also assumes a certain number of tests to be done to diagnose and treat a condition and insurance payments are defined accordingly. You can't expect to make a profit running a CT for the sniffles
