Hi all, the following post will present the results of the Discord 'Project Hospital' community vote. The discord server is over 600 members and this vote was run over the course of a week, the features present on the list were suggested by community members and they represent the most suggested options, these options then went into a vote. The result of that vote is displayed below.

Community Feature Vote Results (2018) Votech10

The following is a description of each feature.

Shared Labs
Most hospitals work with a central lab where all samples are sent to, this ensures better interdepartmental communication, as well as saving space for more examination rooms, operation theatres as well as, well centralising the whole thing. It should work like Radiology does now. Additionally, there may be scope for shared operating rooms.

Undo/Redo
This one is self explanatory but would really help deal with mistakes.

Facilities Department
A hospital wide 'department' for porters, janitors, receptionists, cooks and other ancillary staff as well as general restrooms, cleaning rooms etc outside of other departments.

Planning Tool
Allows us to plan out our department before committing.

Full uniform customisation
The ability to pick the colour of both tops and trousers.

Visitors
Patients have visitors. Those visitors should be spending money in the hospital (kiosk/restaurant), visiting their loved ones while increasing the amount of dirt in the hospital.

24h Emergency clinic
Pretty much what's on the title, to have a 24h emergency clinic to emulate how real world emergency departments function.

Treatment flow information
The player needs to know why and where a patient couldn't be treated. So when the game gives the message: "A patient can't be treated" highlight either where exactly the department is that has the problem (not enough staff/overcrowded/missing room/etc.) or what department it is that is missing to treat the patient. Also useful here is to show workload of staff members in percentage form, like rooms.

Run in background
Letting the game continue running when you alt-tab to windows/another window.

Legal/HR/IT Dept
Departments that would provide necessary functions for a growing organization. Heads of department could provide unique buffs for associated mechanics. (Ie. Legal could handle lawsuits, account handles billing but could negotiate better deals with insurance companies, IT could handle "events" of equipment failing and a better funded department could prevent equipment failures, HR could recommend better staff, find interns with bright potential or recommend firing bad staff).

Plastic Surgery department
Partially for burns, skin grafts, etc, but also as a money maker with referrals.

Equipment Usage Report
A screen to outline how many patients you treated that then demonstrates what equipment was most used or what equipment was idle.

Hi, thanks for the survey, this is very useful! We already have a lot of items on our own list (good news, there's some overlap, a lot of other improvements should be focused on the UI and making the game more accessible for both newcomers and experienced players), but we'll be definitely taking these in account in setting priorities.

Also, let me pin this for you Wink

You can already mostly plan out departments, you are only required to to have a foundation  before the game lets you zone. So maybe simply removing the requirement for foundations to lay zones might go a long way?

Being able to plan out item placement would be a more involved feature. A simple solution might be letting the player sell items at 100% cost if they havn't unpaused the game since buying them. This would also go a long way towards the undo/redo feature I assume?

Community Feature Vote Results (2018) Empty Department Ktichen and kitchen staff be nice

Thu Nov 29, 2018 4:36 pm
most hospital like one i worked at have a kitchen department to feed people be nice to have this in corprated into the game the nurses do not bring food so forth its the wait staff that bring food to nurse station from the kitchen area and they are also responsibility for the lunch and cafetiere area. and buffet area. where people go to buy food so forth. - this service usally gets chraged to the room if they are ordering from the room.

other whys doctors nurses and every one buy there food from the cafeteria and or get food off of the buffet and pay a fee for it.

at least thats how it works in the hospital i work at, and the hospital that my wife works at she is a baker for a hospital.

and when i had bone marrow transplant the uww Madison hospital worked like this also.

reason i thought of it was due to fact that hospitals cant have out side food brought in due to allgerys and other issues which was explained to me by my wife nurses can hand out stuff like treats so forth that are kept in frigs in there wards, but kitchen staff still fills those things, usally there just small sandwichs for dibetics and cancer patients and pop soda and frozen treats that take to long to send up.

I would love to see a cafeteria in this game!

My suggestion for HR department:
It would be interesting to see a wider control of personnel (the issuance of bonuses, fines, promotions, career growth of staff or reprimands). Based on our decisions or decisions of department heads, the employee will receive new traits / position / high salary, or vice versa dismissal / fine / reprimand in the employee’s personal card. It may be worthwhile to create a separate interface for such functionality, where the player or department heads will be able to deal with staff affairs. This will make the game more diverse as there is none anywhere else. Through the panel, it will also be possible to give vacations / diplomas or even senior positions that will help to control all this. The function seems interesting to me. These functions will make the game more diverse and help you escape from the routine of medicine, allowing you to really feel like a head doctor.

To vote (more): Staff control (Topic)
