[OPEN] "At home" Janitors, Common Room travelling, and excessive STAT lab usage
Fri Jun 07, 2019 7:18 pm
Really enjoy the game. Couple things that really jump out to me as bugs:
i. I've noticed random occurrences of hired janitorial staff simply not showing up to work at all with a workspace assigned.
ii. Doctors and staff travelling halfway (or more) across the hospital to utilize a common room rather than utilize the one assigned to their dept.
iii. Enjoy the new labs AND seeing far too many patients with 100% possible diagnosis (especially many low key ailments (e.g. nail fungus)) being sent for one or a series of diagnostic tests. I have certainty set to "low" and still the STAT labs are being utilized like a pill farm. Please adjust this.
regards. Save available if needed.

Hi, thanks for the report, I'll ask for the save file to be sure, mostly to look at the laboratory tests (iii).
Regarding janitors, this can be perfectly normal - janitors don't have a comfortable workspace, so the go home when their work is done and return when there's something new to clean at their department.
The common room selection is a bit weird, could you check if this happens during lunch? In that case adding a few more fridges can help.

thank you for reply. trying to locate a save game file to attach. Following the path "C:drive/users/username...." route is not working for me. I looked in the steamapps file (c:x86) that includes the game files and did not see anything in there? Please advise.

Hi, the saves are definitely under your user profile, the most convenient way to get there is by typing %AppData% in windows explorer, then you should be able to find Oxymoron Games with all the files under ...\AppData\LocalLow.

found it, turns out it was "hidden." I included it in another thread (different bug) in a post sent by Ondrej.oxymoron. For the sake of this thread I'll include the file save attached with that response here in this one.
thanks.
thanks.

Hi, great, thanks for the save!
Checking one ingame day at the lab, it actually seems pretty normal, apart from tests for hospitalized patients there have been only three visiting patients with several possible diagnoses and a couple of patients with final diagnosis already set, but still with some dangerous (blinking) hidden symptoms, the doctors hunt for these even with low certainty level.
Btw - one more thing I noticed when looking at the save: your trauma center is set for staff only, which means no procedures with patients will be performed there.

thanks Jan. Yeah, I treat my trauma wing as a "restricted area" and don't want patients to meander around. So, I have avoided the observation room. Is there any way that procedures will take place (as they would in other departments) when the patient is under TC care? I frequently see the rush to just ship them out to a dept for diagnostic work and wish the staff could do a bit more before this takes place.
