[RESOLVED] Elevator Foundation Empty [RESOLVED] Elevator Foundation

Fri Jul 05, 2019 5:07 pm
Ran into a problem where a second floor elevator didn't register as having been build on a foundation. I noticed this when it wouldn't let me change the wall type around the elevator itself (I built the elevator on an external wall and wanted the outside of my building to be entirely brick).

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Build a room on the first floor.
2) Add the second floor over the already built first floor section.
3) Build a first floor expansion and, before adding on to the second floor, place an elevator in the new first floor expansion.

After this third step the elevator will appear on the second floor and will appear to have a foundation. However, the wall type cannot be changed and no wall can be built around the elevator landing until the foundation tool is used on this 4x4 space. This automatically deletes the elevator but, once the elevator is rebuilt, it then can be edited as normal. I do not know if the elevator is functional prior to being rebuilt.

[RESOLVED] Elevator Foundation Empty Re: [RESOLVED] Elevator Foundation

Hi, thanks for the report, nice catch! Elevators built outdoors automatically mark their area as foundations - but it indeed looks like this only works on the ground floor. Let me see how complicated this would be to fix. Smile

Edit: fixed for the next patch.
