[QUESTION] Working as intended?: Operating room does only one surgery at a time, even if multiple are needed
Sun Feb 07, 2021 11:25 pm
I have a patient in Traumatology suffering from hepatospleenic laceration and needs both thoracic trauma surgery as well as vasicular surgery, both giving him the critical status. I cannot understand, why the surgeons perform one surgery and then send the patient back to ward instead of finishing the job as in doctor's offices with multiple procedures queued at room.
Once he is in ward they pick him up right again and shove him onto the table again. Is this the way the surgery rooms work? Only one procedure at a time? Because I think they should not.
This ejection costs life eventually and is probably not done in reality.

Hi, I agree it would be nice ... but unfortunately there is a lot of technical limitations we have and it's not quite possible in our game engine. This could only work when you have two surgery teams (both ready in needed time).

So first team finishes the job and quits, then patient stays on the table and second team moves in and continues? Well, if that is not within the technical limitations, then we have to live with it. Thing is, I already lost a patient because he collapsed right after the first surgery because of the critical needing the other surgery. In real life the patient wouldn't probably be allowed to leave the surgery and neither would be the doctors performing the surgery until they are finished or utterly exhausted.
