[QUESTION] STAFF NOT WORKING floors getting dirty and patients not being cared for. ALL ROOM NEEDS MET.
Wed Aug 11, 2021 12:36 pm
Janitors are staying home; Dr.s are not attending to patients -- just parking themselves "waiting" for patients when they already have a list of patients to see; etc. All room needs met, and there are no flashing indicators suggesting anything ought to be wrong (other than patients not being attended to and floors becoming dirty). What is causing this issue, and how do we fix it?

Hi, thanks for your message and for joining the forums to report the issues!
We haven't seen any such "global" issues recently as the game has been pretty stable, so if you're experiencing this in the vanilla game, we'd definitely like to have a look at the save to see the details and possibly address the problem in the next update. Would you mind uploading your game to the forum? Here's a little guide that should help you find the save files on your machine: https://projecthospital.forumotion.com/t717-how-to-report-bugs
One other possibility would be some form of a compatibility issue with modded content, which could happen if you're playing with a lot of content from the workshop - we have some notes about this available on the forum too: https://projecthospital.forumotion.com/t717-how-to-report-bugs

Hi, thanks for the save! After running it for a few ingame days, everything seems to work as expected, apart from an occasional collapsing patient which can happen regardless of the hospital design itself.
When it comes to janitors, I can see there are big areas not marked as any room, so these will take lower priority than any dirty tile at the department the janitors are assigned to. Feel free to change these to for example corridors.
Regarding patients and doctors - all doctors offices at Emergency and General Surgery seem to be used by the patients, I haven't seen anybody waiting for too long (apart from patients waiting for lab test results in a dedicated waiting room). Do you remember which doctor/room was causing the issues?

To be clear the, using that save file, you don't see janitors staying home during their shift?

Hi, the janitors don't get called in unless there's a dirty room at their department not already being cleaned by somebody else, so some of them can indeed arrive later. Marking some of the unassigned dirty areas as corridors that belong to emergency should still be a solution.

That's not at all consistent with my own observations. I've seen all janitors come in when the floors are clean and hang out in a break room for most of their shift. BUT NOW do you not see DIRTY FLOORS AND JANITORS STAYING HOME?

Hi, the TL/DR would be:
- Yes, some janitors stay at home, dirty floor outside of their department doesn't cause them to go to work (this is by design)
- On the other hand no, I haven't seen janitors hanging out in the common room apart from grabbing a quick lunch in the middle of the day
Still, as we got more similar feedback since the game released, I think I'll talk to the rest of the team about tweaking the rules a bit.
In the meantime, to give the unassigned dirty areas you're seeing a higher priority, try to mark them as corridors of one of the departments, this way you'll also have more control over which janitors clean where and the staff and patients won't be walking in the dark during the night shift.
