[Modded]: possible issues in Traumatology concerning trauma-related symptoms with cures not possible at traumatology
Sat Jan 22, 2022 2:19 pm
Playing another run with a new hospital in sandbox mode I encountered some symptoms where I could not treat these at traumatology and am confused if this is either a bug in the core game or has been introduced by one or more mods.
I have one patient with an abdominal blast trauma and it can have the symptom 'degloved skin' which needs a treatment at orthopedy office/diagnosis unit. Quite funny, if the patient was in the operating theater thrice for fixing his thorax, leg and had a small bowel resection but could not stich back some skin?!
Also, there might be issues with the symptom 'pale skin' as in 'severe frostbite on hand' diagnosis as well as in similar requiring B-Complex supplements and those could also not be administered at trauma wards. Same here: they can do all kinds of IVs but not add vitamines!?
Maybe working as intended, maybe a bug overlooked since DLC release maybe a thing introduced by a mod - I am puzzled. Maybe one of you could help?
Sincerily, Doc Desastro

Hi @DocDesastro. I'm on the reported issue, quite a few mods and it is rather late in the night for Australia, so i will check back as soon as it is the morning again! Sorry for the delay!

Hi, just quickly checking the database: the replantation treatments should be available at both orthopaedy and traumatology with no special equipment needed, so my best guess is that one of the mods changes the treatment - maybe Realistic collapses? Definitely worth checking if you have the version compatible with DLCs: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2704509476&searchtext=realistic

Thanks for your time. I informed the author of the mod about the issue and asked, whether he changed something.

Hey @DocDesastro, sorry for the delay, looking through the code for both versions of RCDI and Bedside Examinations (you ideally need to be using the DLC versions) and I cannot find a conflict there. It doesn't touch either of those treatments and the changes to the roomtypes is addititive so I can't see the problem there too. I did also test the game with those mods and spawned a patient in with Severe Frostbite to the Hand and I was able to prescribe B-Complex in the burnward and in the HDU of Tramua. I did think at first the room tags for this treatment could be a problem but I am still able to prescribe it in rooms without those tags so I guess not.
You have a lot of other mods but as far as I was aware they really shouldn't be touching those treatments, just to be sure, could you maybe try uploading your log file (I'd need to sub to all those mods to find this out otherwise haha!). You'll find it here:
Log - remember to compress/ ZIP gamelog if you cannot upload it to the forum as a txt file.
- Win: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Oxymoron Games\Project Hospital\output_log.txt
- If you have problem accessing the hidden AppData folder, try entering %AppData% in windows explorer
- Linux: /home/USERNAME/.config/unity3d/Oxymoron Games/Project Hospital/Player.log
- Mac: ~/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log
Otherwise, there might be issues with your installation, replantation is a base game treatment and the base game only has it set to Ortho department, what happens when your game loads with the Tramua DLC installed is that DLC then overrides this treatment so Tramua can prescribe it too. Just to play that safe, do you think you could verify the integrity of your game? If you haven't done that before, just head to steam, right click the game, go to properties, select 'Local Files' and hit 'Verify Integrity of Game...'. That will let us rule that one out at least as a possible problem. Let us know if any files failed to valiadate.

I can say, that my files have been verified. I have not been presented with an error message. Let's try with the log.txt then. I played some more and have not uncovered more oddities. I am really puzzled what might have happened. Thanks for your time

I wonder, whether the error is sitting in front of the display....what happens, if the patient is moved from burn ward to ICU because he collapsed in between - I mean after 3 surgeries a sepsis is quite likely!? Usually one could do almost any treatment concerning surgery there. Could it be possible, that I recognized the patient, the illness but failed to see the change in the department area? Simply by calling up the patient card but then not going to patient and not recognizing he is somewhere else than in traumatology (good, I built my ICU directly next to the burn ward so I might have juxtaposed the beds. Even more, my traumatology has orange color walls and ICU has light red so I might really have mixed up things...)? Could you look up, whether replantation could be ordered from ICU or is it only possible if said patient is physically present at traumatology?
Maybe I simply missed the patient being retransferred to ICU after a collapse without me taking notice and this might have complicated things...and thinking of it: frostbite patients also often collapse because they can get heart problems or dysoxia..
If so, I would feel pretty stupid...

Hi, I had a quick look at the log to see which versions of the two 'realistic' mods you have installed and these seem be the correct ones.
So, I have one more candidate (a mod that changes examinations), I think you can safely try to unsubscribe from it and see if it makes a difference: CBC everywhere.
Probably a long shot, but let me know if this fixes things, if so, we should at least post a comment on the mod page that it can cause issues with DLCs.
