Hospital Campus and Departments

I was wondering if our hospitals would be built as a single building or if there would be an opportunity to build adjoining health buildings that are connected to the main facility? Part of me likes the idea and part of me is afraid it'll be like Theme Hospital and take forever for patients to arrive at a separate treatment facility. Also I was curious about the types of departments that would be available. I would be interested in a Psychiatric Department, mainly because the one in Theme Hospital was not very realistic and because more people suffer from psychiatric illnesses and receive treatment without as much stigma these days. As a person with mental illness, it would be nice to see positive representation of what treatment is actually like.

Psychiatry will not be in the game for release. It would indeed be an interesting field to cover. Gives rise to both fun, sad and scary moments - depending on which mood the developers want to set.

In Theme Hospital nothing was realistic. IMHO this is a total different game and any comparison with Theme Hospital doesn't do this game justice. IMHO this game will be much better, but that might be because I don't have a sense of humor

You have a lot of freedom in the way you can build your hospital. You can basically design it like you want.
There won't be a psychiatric ward. There will be emergency, radiology, surgical and intensive care departments.
