[RESOLVED CRITICAL] Main Menu: Blank Olive Green Screen

When starting up the game, regardless of resolution, fullscreen, or graphics settings, the main menu screen always appears as a blank, olive green screen...



I have been instructed to attach a log file to this post, and hopefully the output_log text file was what was being referred to. I have already had a refund processed, but I will continue to help in finding a solution to this issue as needed.

Hi, just an update - unfortunately the log just shows the normal messages from game startup, so there's no indication of what's going wrong. We'll continue by - well - googling for other occurrences of similar issues in other Unity games. :/

Did you try to update NVIDIA drivers? It seems that latest driver for 980 Ti card is 25.21.14.1634 version and from your log you have 24.21.13.9882 version. Just try to update video card drivers.

I updated the drivers and restarted the computer. Unfortunately, the issue still persists.

There is a silver lining though; the game works as intended on my laptop. For that alone, I will re-purchase the game. It disappoints me that it does not function on my desktop computer, but I at least now have an alternative!

Can you try (on desktop, not on working laptop):

1. run game in windowed mode (check Windowed checkbox)
   
2. run game in fullscreen mode (as usual), but in lower resolution

Btw, two more users reported something similar on Steam forums. Maybe that will help to track it down.

I was googling if something is similar to your problem and I found two things, which are probable:

In your case, I should try to turn off game bar (I don't have such option, I have Win 10 Pro N, which does not hvae such option) and then try to change settings of NVIDIA control panel.

I have Windows 7 Professional on my desktop computer, so the W10 Fall update issues don't apply to me here. My laptop has Windows 10 (I think) and the game runs perfectly on that.

Windows 7 is little bit older than I thought you have. I'm running on 388.13 driver (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti) and I don't have problems. I assume that you don't have problems on any other games or software. You can try to downgrade drivers (https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us), maybe you'll have luck.

Do you have at least SP1 installed? Is it possible to attach output from dxdiag?

I have the same problem with the green screen on the main menus, however i can still see my moues so i made a paper template that i can hold up to my screen which shows me where stuff is. also i have found if I start the game in a window i can grab the side to resize the window as i do this i am able to see the menu, once i manege to navigate to a game mode my screen comes back on and i am able to play as normal. I hope this may help out a bit

Do you have ASUS motherboard? ASUS motherboards come with Sonic Studio software, which can be the cause of your problem (https://steamcommunity.com/app/868360/discussions/1/1752358461543311114/).

Confirmed. Whatever you guys did in this latest patch, the green screen issue on the main menu has been fixed on my end!
