[QUESTION] Greyed out rooms after making prefab from radiology
Sat Jun 08, 2019 3:58 am
As per: https://steamcommunity.com/app/868360/discussions/1/1736595227840363447/
I'm having the same issue on Linux. I'm finding even if I use all prefab rooms, some rooms are greying out and I can't hire staff after creating a room. It seems to be fine if I make any room from Emergeny prefab'd rooms, but as soon as I then go to make a room from Radiology (I tried MRI the first hospital, then Cat scan the second hospital), the premade rooms went grey and I could no longer hire staff and the game assumed I did not have those rooms. The staff I had hired previously seemed to work okay. I have a screenshot here

I'm running Linux freckles 4.15.0-51-generic #55-Ubuntu SMP Wed May 15 14:27:21 UTC 2019 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

solved- for those who have this issue

For those that get this bug, after playing around for a while, I finally understood what they meant by category. If you're in emergency, you can only hire emergency people. If you've just then built a radiology room, you can't hire emergency, only radio people. If you want to hire emergency again, go to the build room section, select emergency rooms, then select Management mode, then you can continue to hire emergency people
Weird design theory, not a bug.

Hi, thanks for the report, we're glad you figured this out!
There's always one department active (what was called category in the thread on Steam), which affects the layout of the management UI, department statistics and also hiring - in bigger hospitals the management view would get very cluttered if all departments and their workspace panels were active at the same time, it also really helps to identify which rooms belong where in the floor plan. I hope this will start making sense after a while!
Btw the building tutorial explains this concept at the beginning.
