Hi, thanks for the message! We actually have this on our list, unfortunately the fix got already postponed a few times, there's always something more critical that pops up. Smile

Basically, the roles are mostly meant for technologists at radiology and in specialized units, so they should be named (if we could fit such long tests) like this to match how it works in game:

- Examinations of clinic patients, all lab tests
- Examinations of hospitalized patients

It's not clear yet if we'll just rename these or make any actual changes to the roles (adding new roles is a bit tricky because of existing saves). I hope this at least makes it a bit more clear!

Hi Jan,

Just want to piggyback off of this report, as I ran into this same issue in one of my recent playthroughs as well (so your explanation of the roles here was very helpful).

In the playthrough where I tried creating two labs (one for clinic and one for hospitalized patients) the lab I made second sat completely idle, even if the first lab was at critical capacity. It's good to know we can't designate certain techs for hospitalized patients only, but I was wondering if multiple labs of the same type is currently supported?

Actually, as I thought about this, I realized you've already answered this question. Based on your description of roles above, my second lab was set to do only examinations of hospitalized patients. If I had enabled the clinic role on the techs is the second lab they probably would have jumped straight to work doing the lab tests.

ahh, very interesting, long ago I tried to create separate labs in the trauma dept to serve hospitalized patients and to my dismay they sat idle. I certainly do hope they enable this function soon.
