[RESOLVED] 1440 x 900 resolution on MacBook Pro is very blurry

I launched the game 1440x900 fullscreen and I think it's not 1440x900. It looks kinda stretch and words are very blurry.

Hi, thanks for reporting, we'll try to improve this in the next patch.

Luckily the ingame UI should look much sharper and you can also access options from there in case you have problem reading them in the main menu.

That would be good as right now it's too small to read comfortably, at least for me.

Hi all, a quick update for now: this seems to be caused by the combination of retina displays and the version of Unity the game has been built on. While upgrading the engine is not a simple task, we might try anyway, there's a chance it will be actually possible in our case. We'll keep you posted.

Hi, we have a Mac build on the beta branch on Steam built with the latest version of Unity, so it should now have proper support for the retina resolutions - would be great if somebody could try it out to confirm it works as expected!

Here's how to switch to beta:
- Right click Project Hospital in the library list on Steam, go to properties
- Choose beta under the betas tab (second screenshot here https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/branches)
- Uninstall and reinstall (this doesn't affect saved games)

So I tried it the screen isn't stretched anymore but the words are less blurry but it's still hard to read.

The latest patch has been built using the latest Unity version (like the beta) with retina support, so hopefully it's significantly better. We'll be also trying to increase text size in some specific cases wherever possible - it's mostly to improve the experience for small resolutions like 1366x768, but it can help in general.
