Treatments and medications

Ok so speaking from personal observation, the only point of prescribing treatments as far as the game is concerned, is that they suppress symptoms effectively removing them after a while. But only very specific treatments cause "discomfort", which is the only stat that matters for prestige as far as actual treatment quality is concerned. You can even not treat some discomfort symptoms by just blasting a patient full of painkillers or other specific medication, because in addition to removing the negative pain symptoms, they also give an addition 2 bonus points.

So it appears to me, that the only symptoms that matter are the ones that cause discomfort, and all the other symptoms are simply to help identify the root cause.
You can spent a lot of time trying to treat all these other symptoms, and the AI sometimes does, but there doesn't seem to be any point to doing so outside of making you feel like you did something for that patient. As far as the game is concerned, you didn't do anything to he patient when you're treating those symptoms. And I find that a little disappointing. The game should somehow acknowledge it.
