[QUESTION] Floor not accessible
Sun May 03, 2020 12:40 pm
I'm having a major problem here. I started a hospital leaving the ground floor with just a reception and 3 elevators. I wanted the other side to be the morgue. So in the other floors. I put another elevator on the other side. Problem is that I can't bring any staff down there. It says "not accessible". I have prints.
It works when I put a door. But I want bodies getting there by elevator. The 3 front elevators are bringing people to all floors they're connected to. No problem there.
Another messy thing is the queue machine and TV. They work on emergency floor. But they don't in radiology neither labs. Employees have to call patients names, even though everything is there. Can anyone help me with those 2 things!

For the lifts - you'll need a door. They won't go up and over. If it's not accessible to be walked into from the same floor, then it won't work. It's just how they path. You can, however, make the area staff only to stop patients walking in.
The screen and button are incomplete. Put the screen above the button, make sure the area under the button is zoned waiting room, and it'll work for other departments.
Medical labs, however, always work like this; they call the patient to the door to take their sample, then call them again to give them their results.
(You can also get 8 clinics in the same space where you have four. The 6x4 clinic rooms work just as well as the 6x8, and let you have more of them. Just remember to swap the paper tray for a printer if you're using the prefabs)

You don't get it. Nobody can get there. It's not accessible. My ground floor has only a reception. 1st floor is emergency area. People get by lift. And people are using the lift that's not giving access to the ground floor (separated/close by wall, from the reception, to go to different floors. The elevator is usable, but not on the ground floor, isolated from the main entrance. The other side of the ground floor wouly only be accessible by lift. Nothing wrong there. But there's a bug that won't let the ground isolated area, accessible by elevator, even though it's there. This is the problem they need to correct. That's a bug.
I'll try the screen thing again. But it's a bug too. When you have a bigger waiting area, all of the screens should be able to call patients. All hospitals have multiple screens, so people don't mess up. I want all screens in the waiting to call patients. And they don't. Only a few of them work and the labs floor don't seem to have them working at all. The waiting area is there.
Medical labs waiting areas have the screen and the queue machine as an option, colored as something the would be the bare minimum for that area. So it means it should be used to call patients. But I'm using prefabs. So I don't know what would happen if I put a table there. And I know the smaller rooms have the same effect. But the game is also about visuals and space planning. Visuals are important. So are resources. And that's the reason why I wanna put my morgue "underground" (there's no underground, so I made myself one ).

By the way, devs, I have the DLC. And I'm likely to get more of them, if they come to be. So don't disappoint us, please. The concept and execution is too great to be let down by such small things. I'm sure all of that can be sorted out.

I just spotted another bug. I rebuilt rooms so that I could have a common room connecting to a restricted access door. That would be like a service door. I painted the room in red, so that only employees would have access. And that's what happened...
I bought the game thinking things would be more stable.

Hi, thanks a lot for the report and all the screenshots and details!
The way floors and elevators work in game requires the ground floor to be a connected area, there are rules for example that if a patient needs to move between two locations on the third floor of two separate buildings, they will go back to the ground floor and then choose the elevator closest to their destination to go back up. Unfortunately there are some limitations to the system, but it's a compromise to make everything work in as many situations as possible.

So will it be in a future patch?
